gradient overlay

PSP tutorial

Gradient overlay is a really cool effect that can make you images or layouts look even better. For this tutorial I'm using this picture of Rihanna Fenty:

Step 1
Open up your layout or picture on PSP. Then click on this icon

in order to make a new image. I change the height to 532 pixels and the width to 400 pixels because that is the size of the picture I'm using. You should also change the size of the new image according to the image or layout you are using. Then you choose the background for you new image: click on 'gradient'. Choose the 'duotone red'- gradient. Change your settings so they match mine from the screenshot, and press ok so that your new image can be created.

Step 2
Now, copy your new gradient image and paste it as a 'new raster layer' on top of your layout or picture. Right-click on the raster layer on the 'layers palette' and click on 'properties'. Then match your settings to mine:
